I am kind of embarrased to say that I watched CASINO, with Robert De Nero,
and Joe Pesci for the first time last weekend. I am not sure why I did not
see it when it came out in 96 but I am glad that I was able to watch it now.
It was a very well done film, and very close to the real life story of Frank
'Lefty' Rosenthal and his wife Geri McGee, and mob enforcer Tony 'The Ant'
Spilotro.
The film does a very good job telling the story about the mobs involvement
with the Vegas casino industry in the 70s and 80s, and the circumstances that
lead to their downfall and ouster from Vegas due to their skimming operations,
extorsion, and other rackets.
A very good film that is worth a watch, if you have not seen it. Joe Pesci
is at the top of his game, this film must ahve almost been theraputic for him,
with the amount of frustration he would have been able to work through!
