So a few weeks ago, I watch The accidental detective by Jeong-hoon Kim. I was really hoping that I would like this film. The trailer looked interesting and it really looked like somewhat of a fresh idea. Even though the basic premise of a "murder by proxy" ('Crisscross' in Strangers On A Train), has been done before. Arguably choosing to base your movie on such an iconic classic as Strangers On A Train might have been to much for Director Kim. Since I had never seen Strangers On A Train I rented it on iTunes Movie Store and was amazed by the differences in artistic style and flow of both movies.
While Hitchcock is a master of detail, and ensures his film flows effortlessly with the audience The Accidental Detective seemed to have too many cuts, and was too fast paced to really sit down and get into the story. It wasn't a bad film, just hard to follow in places.
Please share your thoughts on the film, what did you like about it? What did you dislike, Would you recommend the film to others?
Have a great day, and a Happy New Year!
