Korean Movie Review – Extreme Job
Korean Movie Review – Extreme Job 극한직업
It certainly has been awhile since we have done a Korean Movie Review, back in October we took a look at Byeong-heon Lee’s What A Man Wants. So this month we are reviewing a Crime Comedy called Extreme Job also by Byeong-heon Lee.
The premise of the film is 4 detectives Lee, Hanee, Lee Dong-hwi, Jin Seon-kyu, and Gong Myung must go undercover to catch a gang of drug dealers by opening a fried chicken restaurant. Somehow the restaurant ends up being famous and in a stroke of luck the gang franchises the restaurant to use as a cover for their drug delivery.
I did not enjoy Extreme Job as much as What A Man Wants, I do not know if it was the terrible subtitles that were in the release I watched, but I did not find the movie all that funny, and the story proved very difficult to follow. Mi Jung laughed most of the way through it, so if I use that as a metric it was probably a pretty decent movie. It set records by exceeding 1 million views in the shortest amount of time, so I should probably see if I can find a version with better subtitles.
I was not able to find the film on Amazon or the Apple Music Store, so you will need to locate the film at your local DVD store.
Thanks for visiting Brent’s World, be sure to come back next week for the first trip in my new car, as we visit the Boseong Tea Fields!
