Looks like Robert DeDiro was stripped of his Service to America award by the National Association of Broadcasters.
While I do not like what Robert DeNiro has to say, nor how he says it. We do have protection of freedom of speech, and freedom of expression in the 1st Amendment of our constitution! As a photographer, and someone who publishes on multiple social media platforms this is a very important protection for me, and I feel ALL Americans! Protections that even other "democratic" countries do not have!
While the NAB is a private organization, and can set their own rules, and standards. This action should be heavily discouraged! Where does one's "enforcement" actions begin and end if/when their members partake in legal, constitutionally protected activities. Even if those activities run contrary to its directors or members beliefs or sensitives.
