First Man

Went and saw First Man this weekend at the CGV theater at iPark mall.
While it was a good movie, it was not quite what I expected, I was expecting a more fast paced film along the lines of Apollo 13, and The Right Stuff, where First Man focused too much on the emotional challenges and stress faced by Neil Armstrong.
The one thing I liked about the film is that it brought to light on issues that I had not known about, such as Neil's fateful flight in the X-15 rocket plane were he skipped the aircraft off the upper atmosphere, and the almost disastrous Gemini 8 Mission. Between the fire of Apollo 1 on the launch pad, and the success of Apollo 11, these small but important things just get lost in history.
