You were warned by the subject title: This Post contains SPOILERS!

Mi Jung and I saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi last Thursday the night it opened. I thought it was a good movie. I was a little let down by the reviews saying that it was at least as good as The Empire Strikes back, if not better. I disagree. I think the film had too many story arc's to match the fast pace and fluidity of The Empire Strikes back. Knowing that Carrie Fisher passed away after the principle filming ended I could not help but think how unfortunate the timing was for the script writers.

It was obvious that one of the main focuses of TLJ was to wrap up the storylines concerning the original Star Wars cast, and build upon the new heroes of the Resistance, namely Rey, Finn, Poe, and now Rose Tico.

We saw Han Solo killed off in The Force Awakens
Luke Skywalker killed of in The Last Jedi.

It was ironic that Carie Fishers character General Leia Organa was the only character from the original series who survived to appear in episode IX, however Carrie Fisher passed away.

In hind sight it would have been easier to have had General Organa sacrifice herself on the transport Raddus.
Had the scriptwriters had swapped the roles of General Organa and Admiral Holdo it would have completed the storyline and kept in the style of replacing the Star Wars heroes we know and love with the new cast.

It will be interesting to see how they deal with writing Leia out in Episode IX following Carrie Fishers untimely death.
