Posting this here again since the last post got lost in a database corruption [incident]. Good thing Brent had backups!
This version both ensures that any software reading from the ACIA Rx register has a chance to pull every single byte from that register, making data transfers significantly more ...

About a week ago I picked up this little desk from Kijiji. It was just what I was looking for to put one of my Commodore 64s on! It's almost as if the desk was made by Commodore themselves specifically for the Commodore 64 (or VIC-20)!

Re: MyTec Rear Admiral HyperDrive w/ IDE Hard Drive
Nice to see the forum back up and running!
This was an exercise in discovery and learning, and I am glad to see that there is another viable option for re-driving the Lt. K should it be necessary down the road.

Re: MyTec Rear Admiral HyperDrive w/ IDE Hard Drive
The other day you asked about the SCSI to IDE adapter I used in the HyperDrive. Here are pictures of the front and back of it. I know nothing about it beyond that it works and what you see here; it came inside one of the SCSI drive chassis I picked up at a garage sale several months ago.

MyTec Rear Admiral HyperDrive w/ IDE Hard Drive
After much tinkering, reading, and learning on the fly - I was eventually successful in setting up your Lt. Kernal / Rear Admiral HBA with an IDE hard drive:

Re: Blue Bird Bath
One of the upsides of creating your own integration platform is that even when doing simple things like keeping water in a bird bath bowl from freezing, you can log and graph data about the endeavour. I've always been a big graph geek, so I love things like this.

Re: Blue Bird Bath
Here's a snippet of video (if ~8 minutes can be called such) of these little sparrows playing in the water. They have such big personalities for such little poof-balls, and I love the fact you can hear the one bird's beak snap shut when he tells another bird to 'back off, get your own wire!' (0:51 ...

Re: Does photoshop take away from photography?
Perhaps one of the most convicting jokes (humorous stories?) I've come across deals with photography, and as I read the comment by SaintGermain, it came back to my mind:
A couple had invited a friend to dinner to see the latest photos from his trip. "Wow", the couple exclaimed as the friend showed ...

With everything that is happening these days, it would not surprise me at all if Microsoft announced that they are making Windows open sourced now that Red Hat Enterprise Linux is closing the source their OS...
